Qatar- AZF awards winners of photography contest
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Ibrahem Naim Alomari bagged the first-place of the Aspire International
Kite Festival photography competition, receiving QR20,000 cash prize
from the organisers, Aspire Zone Foundation has announced. Jake Paulo
Llamas came in second place, winning a business-class plane ticket to a
destination of his choice while Mohamed Nageeb Nasr came in third place
and received two economy class plane tickets.
Ali Ali Gad and Said Mohamed Firos took the fourth and fifth places respectively and each received a professional camera.
Meanwhile, AZF also announced the winners of the ‘Best Poster' competitions for children aged 5 to 13.
The top six posters depicting a kite flying above Aspire Park came from Abdel Hadi Ahmed, Shamita Adiga, Khalid Mohamed al-Obaidly, Ghalya Abdullah, Hamda Anjum, and Fatima Tahreem, all of whom received valuable awards from Virgin Megastores.
The two competitions were held on the sidelines of the festival, which concluded on March 9, AZF noted.
The photography competition was organised in collaboration with Qatar Photographic Society (QPS) and encouraged Qatar's photography enthusiasts to take part and capture the festival action through photography.
An organising committee made up of QPS experts and led by its chairman Ahmed al-Khulaifi, vice chairman Abdulrahman Obaidan, and Mohamed Abdullah, selected five winners from more than a thousand entries across Qatar, which were submitted on Instagram under the #AspireKiteFest hashtag.
