Tabbaa commends strong Jordanian- Turkish economic ties


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, March 20)-- President of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) Hamdi Tabbaa praised the strong Jordanian- Turkish economic relations, pointing out to more than 40 agreements signed between the two countries.

Tabbaa added, during the meeting of the joint Jordanian-Turkish Business Council in Amman today, that the resumption of Turkish Airlines' flights to Aqaba would serve interests of both countries and promote joint investments.

He added that "bilateral meetings will be held to establish Jordanian-Turkish partnerships", noting that "the government's recent decision, which allows the private sector to establish medicine faculties in the kingdom is an opportunity for Turkish businessmen to invest in this vital sector.

He also outlined investment privileges in Jordan in various fields.

President of the Jordanian-Turkish Business Council Omer Faruk Akbal, for his part, said that Jordan is considered to be "a suitable investment opportunity in the region", stressing the role of the Council in promoting bilateral ties in various economic, trade and investment domains.

The Jordanian Ambassador to Turkey Ismail Rifai underlined the strong Jordanian- Turkish relations, noting the need to hold further meetings to enhance bilateral relations.

Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Murat Karagoz said Turkish businessmen showed interest in Jordan's investment opportunities in Aqaba, noting the strong Jordanian- Turkish relations.
