US, Israel condemn Palestinian President for 'son of a dog' remark

(MENAFN) Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has received brutal condemnation from Israeli and American officials for insulting the American ambassador to Israel during an address.

The remarks describing the ambassador as a "son of a dog" and a "settler" have pushed Israeli Minister for Regional Cooperation Tzachi Hanegbi to respond, saying it
was "inflammatory" and "inexcusable".

The Israeli minister posted on social media "negotiations, not insults and hate, are the path to peace and prosperity in the region."

The statement has been made in a Twitter post one day following US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman deeming the comments as anti-Semitic.
