Pakistan- Doctor in Bajaur continue strike on 2nd consecutive day against colleague kidnapping, torture
Some persons, 'believed to be personnel of security forces,' reportedly kidnapped Dr Abdul Hameed from the hospital after exchange of harsh words and subjected him to torture.
Paramedical staff and doctors boycotted their duties and staged a protest demonstration after which Dr Hameed was released.
The protesting doctors claimed that the political agent knew the people who kidnapped and tortured the doctor and demanded action against them.
They vowed to continue their strike and would not treat a single patient until action was taken against the culprits. They also threatened to spread their strike to other hospitals of tribal agencies in case of no action against them kidnappers.
