DOHA: A late goal by Saoud Nasser Mohammed yesterday helped Al Kharaitiyat snatch an incredible 3-2 win over Qatar SC at Al Khor Stadium.

Mohammed hit the final shot of the intense battle into the net (90 + 5) as Al Kharaitiyat picked up three point from the match. Anuwar Diba (42) and Rachid Tiberkanine (50) were the other goal-scorers for the winners.

For Qatar SC, the two goals were scored by Osama Omari (5) and Ali Awad Bujaloof (90).

Qatar SC shocked Al Kharaitiyat with an early goal in the 5th minute after a quick start to the round 21 clash. Luiz Jimenez spotted Fahad Al Balushi near the Al Kharaitiyat box. Al Balushi, without wasting any time, chipped a cross to Omari who caught Al Kharaitiyat defenders napping. An unmarked Omari charged ahead with the ball before slipping a low shot past goalkeeper Saeed Monfared.

Al Kharaitiyat strike force stitched a few threatening moves from both flanks in the next 15 minutes but Qatar SC backline remained alert to keep the men in blue away from scoring the equaliser.

Al Sadd and Al Khor players vie for ball possession yesterday.

In the 26th minute, Al Balushi broke free of his marker and tapped a volley towards the Al Kharaitiyat goal but keeper Monfraed was quick to bock the move with his right leg as the ball went away for a corner.

Three minutes later, Diba - after receiving a cross from Moroccan player Tiberkanine - fired a powerful shot a the goal but the ball slipped past the crossbar. In the 39th minute, Al Kharaitiyat's Sanjar Tursunov clipped one from the edge of the box but his shot was punched away by goalkeeper Jassim Adel Hail.

Three minutes later, Al Kharaitiyat produced the equaliser through Diba - who after receiving a ball from Ibrahim Jamal - fired a swinging shot with his left-foot. The ball sailed past a clutch of Qatar SC defenders and smashed into the net.

Soon after resumption of play, Al Kharaitiyat went ahead when Tiberkanine produced the most spectacular goal of the season so far, managing a high-leaping bicycle kick to send the ball into the net in the 50th minute. It was Tiberkanine's 13th goal of the season.

In the final five minutes of the match, Qatar SC's Bujaloof fired a shot towards the Al Kharaitiyat goal but keeper Monfared fumbled with the ball that crashed into the net. However, five minutes later, Mohammed fired one from close range to help Al Kharaitiyat pick up three points.

Meanwhile, Al Duhail, who secured the QSL title last week thrashed Al Markhiya 4-2 to claim another victory.
