Oman- SalamAir to begin seasonal flights to Saudi Arabia's Taif from May 15

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- SalamAir, Oman's first low-cost carrier has announced the introduction of the first-ever direct flights from Muscat to Taif in Saudi Arabia.

The new seasonal flights from Muscat will commence on May 15 to facilitate umrah during Ramadan with ticket fares starting from RO99 (return).

Guests can now book directly on www.SalamAir.com, stated a press release.
'Our aim is to make travelling for umrah easier, convenient and more affordable for our guests,' said Capt Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir.

'Despite its strategic location, pleasant weather and spiritual importance due to its close proximity to the Holy Mosque, Taif as a destination, has never been connected to Muscat. Its modern and efficient terminal is highly appreciated and preferred by the travellers and as a result, we have worked with the authorities to ensure that we cater to it during the holy month of Ramadan,' Capt Ahmed added.

SalamAir has carefully chosen the timings of its flights to and from Taif to accommodate its fasting guests during the holy month.

Flying thrice weekly, the flights from Muscat International Airport will depart at 11pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Taif at 1.20am.

Return flights from Taif are scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing at 2.10am and arriving in Muscat at 6.35am.

Saudi Arabia has been a key market for SalamAir since inception. Today, it has connected both Muscat and Salalah to Jeddah and successfully operated several seasonal services to other cities within Saudi, offering greater flexibility and choice to guests travelling for leisure, business and religious purposes.

These routes have opened new tourism, trade and investment opportunities and contributed to the Omani economy by attracting more tourists and business travellers.
