Jordan- Rise in temperatures forecast Wednesday, drop over weekend


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, March 14 (Petra)-- A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Wednesday, becoming 5-6 degrees above their annual average. Therefore, warm weather will prevail across the Kingdom during day hours, the Jordan Metrological Department (JMD) said.

The department pointed that the weather will change at night, becoming relatively cold in the hilly areas and the Badia regions and pleasant in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.

Daytime temperatures forecast for today in Amman will reach 23 degrees Celsius dropping down to 8 at night, while in the northern and southern cities they will range between a high of 20 degrees and a low of 9. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 31 degrees and lows standing at 15, the JMD said.

Mercury levels will drop few degrees on Thursday bringing pleasant weather in the hilly areas, while it will be warm in other parts of the country with clouds at various altitudes and a chance for light scattered showers. Winds will be westerly moderate to brisk at times, the JMD added.

A further drop in temperatures is expected on Friday, creating relatively cold weather in the mountainous areas, but remains warm in other regions with clouds at various altitudes and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust in the southern and eastern parts of the country, the department noted.
