Turkey's Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli visited the Turkish military base in Qatar, the defense ministry said on March 13.
The minister also held a meeting with the leadership of the military base, the ministry added.
In 2017, Turkey approved a Law on ratification of the agreement between Turkey and Qatar on deployment of a Turkish military contingent in Qatar.
The military agreement between Qatar and Turkey came into force on June 9, 2017. The corresponding document was signed on Nov.10, 2016 in Ankara.
In January-February 2018, Turkey exported defense products worth $ 7.9 million to Qatar.
