Jordan, Ghana discuss economic cooperation

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Mar. 12 (Petra)-Jordan Chamber of Commerce First Vice President Ghassan Khirfan, on Monday discussed with Ghana's non-resident ambassador to the Kingdom, sheikh Taher Bimbali Damba, ways to boost economic cooperation between the two countries and to establish joint investments.
During the meeting held at the chamber, Khirfan stressed the importance to boost cooperation between the two countries' business communities and to exchange visits of trade delegations, "especially since Jordan is very interested in African markets".
Jordan is an important trade and economic gateway to many countries in the region and has a lucrative investment environment, he added, and noted the Kingdom is seeking to attract investments in different sectors.
In turn, the Ghanaian envoy said his country is interested in economic cooperation with Jordan, especially in the pharmaceuticals, phosphate, potash, information technology, banking and air transport sectors.
Ghana is a key market in the West African region and has raw materials that can be exploited in partnerships between the two countries, he explained, and called on Jordanian business leaders to discover his country's potential investment opportunities.
