(MENAFN- Gulf Times) QNB has been announced as the official sponsor of the upcoming fifth Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS), while Maserati will be the official car of the event.
The boat show will be held at The Pearl-Qatar from tomorrow until March 17 under the auspices of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani.
Al Mannai Plus Events, the organising company of QIBS, said in a statement yesterday that it had signed a sponsorship agreement with QNB under which the bank would be the official sponsor of the event.
Addressing a press conference, Al Mannai Plus Events chairman Khalid Issa al-Mannai said: 'Since its inception, the event has been able to garner amazing response and made Qatar one of the leading destinations for organising such grand exhibitions. With such partnerships, we are sure to continue the country's economic growth momentum.
Al-Mannai thanked QNB, Alfardan Sports Motors, the official dealer of Maserati in Qatar, and The Ritz-Carlton, Doha the official hotel of the show.
Fadi al-Yousfi, director of QIBS, said: 'We have been able to set a record in attracting leading manufacturers and exhibitors from across the globe who are specialised in the manufacture and promotion of boats and luxury yachts. More than 70 exhibitors have been registered so far and going by the growing popularity, the number is set to increase over the next three days.
'We are anticipating an unprecedented turnout at this year's edition of QIBS, especially as it is located in an amazing and accessible area of The Pearl-Qatar. In order to offer a unique experience to our participating companies, we will host various interesting activities such as marine tours, prizes, water activities, marine races and relevant seminars, etc.
