Palestine President meets QFA chief


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Ramallah: President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine met yesterday with visiting President of theQatar football Association (QFA) sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani in Ramallah.
During the meeting, Abbas stressed on the deep relations between the two brotherly countries. He also stressed the great role played by Sport in general, especially football in building positive atmosphere in building the society. He pointed out that Palestine attaches great importance to the youth sector and its support in all fields.
For his part, Sheikh Hamad affirmed his support for Palestinian sports and harnessing the capabilities of the Qatar Football Association to serve Palestinian football, which has grown at the Arab and continental levels.
Palestinian Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah also met with QFA president and his accompanying delegation, where they discussed the latest developments of the sport sector and youth.
He also called for enhancing cooperation between Palestine and Qatar in many areas, especially the sports field. (QNA)
