UK's Chancellor Hammond rejects end of austerity declaration

(MENAFN) Britain's Chancellor Philip Hammond was confirmed to have refused demands to declare the conclusion of austerity in his spring statement.

The Chancellor is predicted to reveal in his statement the smallest budget shortfall ever since the year 2002.

However, he announced the national debt of Britain to remain at a high number, indicating expenses limitations to not be loosened.

Speaking at the BBC's Andrew Marr Show, he stated "there is light at the end of the tunnel," he then added "we are still in the tunnel at the moment."
