UAE- Video: RAK cleaner dumps garbage on beach in viral clip

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Public Services Department of Ras Al Khaimah Government has initiated an investigation into a viral video showing a worker dumping garbage on the beach.

A statement issued by Eng Ahmed Al Hammadi, director general of the department, condemned the worker's behaviour saying that it does not represent the department's policy and relentless round-the-clock service

In the viral video - posted by a citizen on social media - a cleaner can be seen throwing garbage on Sha'am beach a day before the cleaning campaign.

The Department added that the employee has been suspended for investigation, assuring that the law will be enforced. The investigation would involve all concerned officials, including the Environment Protection and Development Authority with whom the department has collaborated for the clean up campaign.

"No one - junior or senior - involved in this illegal practice shall be spared," reiterated Al Hammadi.

The Department said that the behavior is shocking, and it apologizes to RAK citizens and thank them for caring about their emirate, adding that this shameful behavior won't pass without persuasive sanctions.

The department urged RAK citizens to avoid such behaviour and to work for protecting the environment by reporting any such incidents through calling toll-free numbers: 8008118 or 0508905289
