Jordan energy project put out to local, global tender


(MENAFN) Jordan was declared to have placed a construction project of six solar or wind power plants out to regional and global tender.

Minister of Energy Saleh Kharabsheh reportedly confirmed 45 firms and consortia to be submitting proposals by this month's end.

The minister also explained the project to be comprising of a couple of wind power plants as well as four solar power plants, each at a 50 megawatts capacity.

The project comes as part of Jordan's efforts to develop renewable energy role to the total energy mix by the year 2020 from 3 percent to 10 percent.
