Winter Paralympics 2018: Ukraine's Vitaliy Lukyanenko wins 'gold'


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Vitaliy Lukyanenko has won the first Gold medal for Ukraine at the2018WinterParalympicsin PyeongChang, Korea.

Ukrainian biathletewas first in men's 7.5 km for visually impaired athletes, Ukrinform reports.

Yury Holub from Belarus took the silver medal, and Anatolii Kovalevskyi from Ukraine the bronze medal.

For Vitaliy Lukyanenko, this is the sixth Paralympic Games and the fifth "gold". In total, the Ukrainian athlete has already won ten Paralympic medals.

Men's7.5 kilometrescompetition of the 2018 Winter Paralympics was held at Alpensia Biathlon Centre, South Korea.

The Paralympic Games 2018 will be held until March 18.
