Turkish army, FSA advance into Afrin
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, March 9 (KUNA) -- Turkish military and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have entered Afrin City's border after liberating two more villages in northwestern Syria's Afrin.
They have cleared Shawarighat al-Jawz and Milkiyah villages in Afrin of YPG/PKK militants, Turkey's Anadolu news agency reported.
Moroever, Turkish forces and FSA have taken control of a strategic dam known as "known as April 17 Dam", which is the only source that provides clean water and electricity to Afrin, the agency added.
Turkey and FSA launched the military operation on January 20 to establish security and stability along Turkey's borders. (end) rs.mt
