Jordan- PM: focusing on youth problems a key priority

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Mar. 9 (Petra)-- Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki, on Friday, said his government is keen on dialogue and to listen to all views presented by youth, in order to solve their problems and addressing their challenges.

Al-Mulki made his remarks as he, along with his ministerial team, met with 150 youth from across the Kingdom.

He also said that all measures taken by the government came to guarantee a better life for youth.

The prime minister noted that when His Majesty ordered to establish the ministry of youth, the idea was not only for sports, but also for boosting dialogue with this key sector.

He stressed that the government can't plan for the future without knowing youth needs and priorities.

The government, al-Mulki said, had adopted the slogan of self-employment rather than hiring, noting that the national economy is generating 1.6 million job opportunities, half of which goes to non-Jordanians.

Minister of Youth Bashir Rawashdeh stressed the importance of such meetings between the government and youth, noting that such events are essential to building democracy.
