French, Lebanese defence ministers discuss ongoing cooperation
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, March 8 (KUNA) -- French Defence Minister Florence Parly on Thursday met with her Lebanese counterpart Yaacub Sarraf to discuss cooperation between the armies of the two countries, the French Defence Ministry said.
The agenda for the talks included broader defence cooperation in the framework of the "Franco-Lebanese strategic dialogue," the ministry said.
The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation and exchanges and training programmes and also "operational cooperation" in order to contribute to reinforcing the Lebanese army and maintaining communications and knowledge-based exchanges between the two forces.
France is a significant supplier of military hardware and training to the Lebanese forces. (end) jk.sd
