Morocco prepares for 2018 World Cup

(MENAFN) Confirming that they will be preparing for the 2018 World Cup tournament, Morocco will take part in friendlies against Serbia and Uzbekistan later this month.

According to the country's football federation (FRMF) the Atlas Lions will face Serbia on 23 March in Turin, Italy and host Uzbekistan in Casablanca four days later.

Earlier, Morocco and Iran have played two times with Morocco winning both matches including one on penalties.

On 20 June in Moscow, they will face reigning European champions Portugal before a final group clash against 2010 World Cup winners Spain in Kaliningrad on 25 June.

Morocco, who under Frenchman Herve Renard completed their qualifying campaign with maximum points and no goals conceded, last appeared in a World Cup in 1998 in France.
