Pakistan- PSL: Gladiators beat Sultans in a thriller


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Quetta Gladiators defeated Multan Sultans by two wickets in a sensational match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday.

Multan Sultans after being invited to bat first scored 152 runs for the loss of five wickets. Captain Shoaib Malik was top scorer with 65 runs off 43 balls, while Sohaib Maqsood scored 27.

Gladiators successfully chased down the target on the second-last ball of the innings as tail-ender Hasan Khan dispatched a slower ball bowled by Kieron Pollard over the mid-wicket boundary for six.

Umar Gul made a return by marking his career-best bowling figures, taking six wickets for 24 runs and completing 200 wickets in T20s. Gul's spell was the second best in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after Bopara's 6/16 in 2016.

Gul was declared player of the match despite Mutan Sultan's loss. Sultans are still leading the points table, followed by Karachi Kings on second and Peshawar Zalmi on third. Quetta are on fourth position, while Lahore Qalandars are still languishing at the bottom of the table.

In today's (Thursday) matches Lahore Qalandars will face Islamabad United, while Karachi Kings will face Quetta Gladiators.
