Jordan- Health sector reform plan to cost JOD602mln, says minister


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Mar.7 (Petra) -- Minister of Health Mahmoud Al-Sheyyab said the cost of a government executive plan for reforming the health sector for the years 2018-2022 amounts to JOD602 million.

In a press conference held Wednesday, Al-Sheyyab noted that the plan addresses seven main themes and they are: Primary health care, secondary health care, health insurance, medical sector, therapeutic tourism, accreditation and quality control, and e-health.

The plan included 131 projects and an initiative worth JD602 million and JD118,000, which will be covered by the budgets of ministries, institutions, grants and loans, the minister said.

The plan aims to improve the quality and safety of care services, monitor and control communicable diseases, reduce the spread of non-communicable diseases, develop human resources, strengthen health sector infrastructure and control pharmaceuticals in all its aspects, he added.
