Kuwaiti FM attends Arab peace initiative cmte meeting
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) (with POL-KUWAIT-EGYPT-LEAGUE) CAIRO, March 7 (KUNA) - Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah actively led a Kuwaiti delegation to a meeting for the Arab Peace Process Committee on Wednesday.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 149th session of the Arab League Council at the Arab League's Secretariat in Cairo.
The Foreign Ministers focused on the Arab moves to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinians and Arab lands.
Addressing the gathering, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled reviewed Kuwait's efforts and endeavors during the country's presidency of the United Nations Security Council in February, to discus the situation in the Middle East, including developments in the Palestinian territories.
Kuwait also called for a Council meeting under the theme "prospects of two-state solution for peace" with the chief aim of reviving the stalled peace process in the region.
The Kuwaiti delegation to the meeting included, Assistant Foreign Minister for Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled's Office Ambassador Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Kuwait's Ambassador to Egypt Mohammad Saleh Al-Thuwaikh, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Arab World Affairs Ambassador Aziz Al-Daihani, Kuwait's Permanent Delegate to the Arab League Ambassador Ahmad Abdulrahman Al-Bakr, and a host of the ministry's senior officials.
Kuwait is a member of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee that also includes Jordan (Chair), Egypt, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iraq, Palestine, Qatar, Lebanon, Morocco, Yemen, and Syria (membership frozen). (end) as.rg.msa
