(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) JAMRUD: The people of Jamrud sub-division of Khyber Agency on Wednesday staged protest against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police for allegedly violating the law by conducting operations inside FATA.
The protest at the Bab-e-Khyber was led by the leaders of FATA Grand Alliance, while the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) activists also attended the rally. The protesters said Peshawar Police personnel regularly raid the shops in the jurisdiction of Khyber Agency near Karkhano market and harass them. They said Khassadar and Levies forces are there in FATA to take action against any illegal activity, and police have nothing to do with it.
The protesters said they will take action against the policemen according to tribal traditions if they intruded into the tribal jurisdiction again without the consent of the political administration. They threatened that the vehicles of the intruding policemen will be burnt and protests will also be held against them.
