Lebanese PM: USD 16 billion to revamp Lebanon's infrastructure
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, March 6 (KUNA) -- Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri on Tuesday launched a USD 16 billion scheme to revamp the country's infrastructure, envisioning 150 projects in various sectors.
The premier announced the initiative in the opening session of "Lebanon Investment in Infrastructure Conference," as part of preparations for the CEDRE conference, due in Paris on April 6.
Al-Hariri noted that the private sector would be involved in the envisaged development schemes, hinting that success of the international conference in Paris would largely hinge on Lebanon's stability.
Pierre Dokan, the French envoy to the Middle East, affirmed France's support for Lebanon's stability, noting that the planned conference in Paris aimed at tackling structural economic problems in Lebanon.
