Trump pressured to cancel tariffs proposal

(MENAFN) US President Trump is being increasingly pressured from political and diplomatic allies as well as US companies to cancel the proposed steel and aluminum tariffs, although he said he wouldn't.

Major Republicans intensified the pressure on Trump, with House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan leading the charge.

Business leaders are pushing for a meeting with Trump to concise him on the negative repercussions of the tariffs on companies that use steel and aluminum.

Trump said during a White House meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday: "We're not backing down, I don't think you're going to have a trade war."
