Kuwaiti society coordinates with UN to relieve Yemenis
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, March 5 (KUNA) -- A delegation of Kuwait Society for Relief (KSR) on Monday discussed with officials at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Yemen coordinating humanitarian activities as part of the ongoing campaign, "Kuwait by your side." A campaign statement said the meeting was held in southern city Aden to secure delivery of aid to the largest possible number of people in Yemen, in light of UN reports pinpointing the needy locations and most damaged regions throughout the country.
Andrea Rikea, a UN officer, said the Kuwaiti society "is one of the most important partners who have been working with us." He indicated that the meeting was meant to coordinate humanitarian operations in the most damaged regions on Yemen's west coast, southern Taiz and Abyan.
Mohammad Al-Sharhan, the association chair, affirmed keenness on cooperating with OCHA to secure educational, health and nutrition care for the impoverished Yemenis.
