Pakistan- Elders of Ahmadzai, Utmanzai tribes join hands for protection of rights
(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) WANA: Elders of Utmanzai Wazir and Ahmadzai Wazir tribes of South Waziristan Agency on Monday constituted a 40-member committee for protection of their rights and solution of problems in their areas.
The committee, comprised 20 members from each tribe, was formed at a jirga held here in Dera Ismail Khan where a large number of tribesmen from both sides participated. Among the elders are Malik Naik Daraz, Shairullah, Abdul Qayyum Marakhel, Malik Sabir Khan, Haji Jalal Khan and others.
Haji Jalal Khan said that the committee would list problems of the area in health, education and infrastructure sectors and work for its solution. "The committee would hold meetings with prime minister, governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and military leadership and appeal them for solution of the problems," he said.
A resolution was passed unanimously in the jirga saying both tribes would jointly raise voice for their rights and would continue efforts for welfare of the tribes .
The elders said that the resolution was neither against writ of the state nor any tribe. The committee would make sure implementation of the resolution and to impose fine to the tune of Rs5 million in case of violation.
