UAE: UNRWA Commends Emirati Support for Palestinians

CAIRO,Feb 2 (WAM) - The current conditions of the Palestinian people were the crux of a meeting Dr. Anwar Gargash, United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, had with Pierre Krahenbuhl, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) at the premises of the Arab League in Cairo, with the international official commending the eminent role played by the UAE in supporting the Palestinians.

Dr. Gargash hailed the role played by UNRWA to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, affirming the UAE's principled commitment to stand by the Palestinians at the political and humanitarian levels in order to ensure peace and stability in the region.

The meeting occasioned a review of the international agency's current requirements, with Krahenbuhl underlining the constructive relations between the UAE and UNRWA. (WAM) (END/2018)
