Pakistan- Woman loses hands in landmine blast in Waziristan
(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) MIRAN SHAH: A 20-year old woman on Sunday lost her hands in a landmine blast in Mir Ali sub-division of North Waziristan Agency.
Locals said that the woman, daughter of Tilawat Khan, was collecting fuel wood from mountains when she stepped on a landmine and exploded.
As a result, she lost her both hands apart from receiving injuries on her body. She was rushed to a hospital in Bannu. Local residents said that the victim was belonging to a poor family and appealed the government to help her financially.
Hundreds of people have either died or lost part of bodies due to scattered landmines planted during militancy throughout Fata. South Waziristan Agency is the most affected in this regard where dozens have lost their lives or disabled due to landmines blast.
