Iranian automaker to export automatic vehicles to Iraq

(MENAFN) Automaker Iran Khodro Company (IKCO) is reportedly planning to export vehicles that have an automatic transmission to Iraq, aiming to develop Iran's status within the Iraqi market.

The company is set to deliver 300 units of locally manufactured Peugeot 405 with automatic gearbox by March 20.

Citing IKCO's exports director for the Middle East and Africa Hassan Golchubian, reports showed that the company considers Iraq as a top target for export.

Even though IKCO is looking for growth in Iraqi market, it faces the difficulty of 8-10 percent import tax on motor cars, and 15 percent tax on auto parts.
