Switzerland to vote on broadcasting license fee removal
(MENAFN) Swiss voters are to be deciding Sunday on the resolution to revoke the public broadcasting's mandatory license bill.
The license fee imposes an annual USD480 payment so that TV and radio is transmitted, with extra financing from advertising.
Voters who are in favor of the license fee to remain argue that Switzerland is in need of a national broadcaster for culture and linguistic diversity to reach the world.
Whereas voters who are in favor of the license fee to be abolished justify their opinion in noting that a great number of people are required to make a payment for a great number of programs they hardly ever view.
