DOHA: The Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) has approved new uniforms for its affiliated officers, non-commissioned officers and individuals.
The new uniform is designed with special specification to suite the duty and mission of the officers. The design includes Qatari heritage, colour of national flag in logos and ranks of the officers.
Lekhwiya is trying to train its cadres to improve their performances to the highest level of professionalism.
Under annual training programme, Lekhwiya, represented by the Training and Courses Department organised 113 activities including programme, training courses and specialised workshops which were also attended by several security agencies, military and civil organisations from Qatar and Kuwait.
The programme included compulsory and specialised courses and those related to skill development in the fields of security, administration and medical.
The training courses that were held in cooperation with big institutions aim at providing trainings to the trainees and participants to build their skills and capability so they could discharge their duties in a better way. The training also meant to enhance their capacity in tackling the security challenges that reflects the performance of security agency in general to serve the community.
The annual training plan of Lekhwiya helps meet all practical requirements to improve the performance of its affiliates in the fields of security and administration.
Lekhwiya is also trying to upgrade the practical training system through this programme to improve the performance of its cadres so they could meet the challenges in line with the latest developments in the world.
The Internal Security Force organised a shooting championship which is receiving growing number of participants every year. The categories in the championship include shooting by revolver and gun as main contest. Various military and security agencies participated the championship.
Regarding sport training, Sport Section of Courses and Training Department is organising first Lekhwiya Football Match. The match that started in mid January will continue till end of March this year. Three teams from Lekhwiya and seven teams from other military and security agencies are participating the match.
