US sanctions condemned by Russia as illegal, globally harmful
(MENAFN) Following Washington's imposed restrictions on Moscow for the Ukrainian crisis, Russia has spoke out against US sanctions, deeming them as unlawful and globally damaging.
Citing Russian presidential press spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Interfax news agency reported "we have never been the initiator of these sanctions, we consider them illegal and harmful not just to the people of our two countries but the whole world."
The statement had been a response to an executive order signed by President Trump for the expansion of sanctions imposed on Moscow.
Russia and the US have been putting pressure on each other as a result of Ukraine-Syria crisis as well as the emerge of accusations against Russia of interfering in the 2016 presidential election.
