Two reporters working on historic tramway arrested in Egypt
(MENAFN) Egyptian prosecutors ordered the arrest of two reporters amid their report on the historic Alexandria tramway, for 15 day till the conclusion of probes.
Mohammed Hafez, Defense attorney, declared that both Egyptian citizens will be charged of two felonies involving participating in a crime groups and owning visual and audio tools with the motive of sharing fake news.
He added that they were operating a story for the Al Bayan newspaper based in the United Arab Emirates.
President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, who took control over the army in order to unseat an elected Islamist president, has allowed the frequent arrests, imprisonment and prosecution of journalists.
