Two people drown amid attempt to reach Spanish island

(MENAFN) Two migrants die amid their attempt to swim to the shore of Ceuta, a small Spanish island in North Africa, according to Spanish governments.

Both Ceuta and Melilla are Spanish littoral areas enclosed by Morocco.

The spokesman for the Spanish government's representative in Ceuta declared that two Sub-Saharan African women drowned after jumping off a boat that couldn't reach the shore for the strong waves.

Yet, the officers of Spain's Civil Guard managed to return the corpses.
