Tunisia: USD5bn energy projects to be launched


(MENAFN) Tunisia was declared to be spending USD5 billion in various projects within the energy sector from this year to 2020.

The Tunisian government confirmed it was also considering the construction of an airport in close proximity to the capital of Tunisia.

Energy Minister Khaled Kaddour revealed energy plans to be including a project of 600 megawatt-underwater power cable built to connect the power grid of the country to the power grid of Italy.

According to the statement of the government, Tunisia is also planning one of the projects to include the construction of two 450 megawatts capacity power plants.
