Qatar takes part in Arab Health Ministers' Council

Cairo: The 49th session of Arab Health Ministers' Council began yesterday at the Arab League headquarter, with the participation of health ministers of the Arab member states and representatives of the regional and international organisations in addition to Arab councils specialized in the different health fields.
Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Ghait was also present.
The State of Qatar is participating in the session with a delegation headed by Assistant Minister for Health Affairs H E Dr Saleh Ali Al Marri.
The Arab Health Ministers will be discussing a number of important topics, the most important of which are the unification of health legislation in the Arab countries, the role of e-health and its importance in the development of the health care system, the health of adolescents, the successful and pioneering experiences of the Arab Member States in the field of health and the motto of the Arab Health Day 2018.
They will also be discussing ways to strengthen the role of nursing and midwifery in the Arab countries, the request of Union of Arab nurses to obtain observer status in the Council of Arab Ministers of Health and the consolidated floor of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health before the 71st session of the General Assembly of the World Health Organisation slated for May in Geneva.
The Council of Arab Ministers of Health will also discuss the annual report of the Arab Council for Health Specialities, the annual report of the Arab Center for the Composition and Translation of Health Sciences, the date and venue of the 51st session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health, the Arab Fund for Health Development, support for the rights of older persons in health care and the State of Kuwait's proposal for the annual celebration of Arab Doctors Day, in addition to the request of the United Nations Population Fund for observer status in the Council of Arab Ministers of Health.
