Family seeks govt help for maid missing in Jeddah since 2016
In May 2016, Nilda Bongar, a widow with four children, went to Jeddah to work as a domestic worker. After four months, her employer reported to police that Bongar had run away, reported.
Her family in the Philippines lost contact with her for 17 months and doubts that she ran away from her employer's home.Ric Burlaza, the woman's brother, said before they lost contact, Bongar had said she was being abused by her employers.
Bongar's employment agency said they have exerted all efforts to look for her without success. They say the only information they have is that Bongar ran away from her employer's home.The woman's eldest son, Dan Mark Bongar, has been to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) to seek help to locate his mother. He said before she went missing, she said she was having problems but did not specify what they were.
