(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Malik returned a devastating seven for 50 to set up a massive 67-run victory for HBK over Tusker Club in a Division A match in the Qatar Airways Cricket tournament.
At the West Bay Grounds, Malik ran through Tusker Club's battling line-up when they were chasing a stiff 275-run target. His big haul secured in 9.1 overs sent Tusker Club crashing to 208 all out in 40.1 overs. Deepu resisted gallantly and ended up with 75 not out.
Batting first, HBK were lifted to 274 in 45 overs by Imal, who cracked a six and nine fours in his 106-ball 99. Ushantha's contribution of 40 in 30 balls with two sixes and three fours was useful.
In a Premier Division match, Omran (five for 18) and Mirza nabbed nine scalps between them to spark Qatari Diar to a dominant six-wicket triumph against Royal Stars.
Omran dismissed five players in his 7.4 overs with one maiden and Mirza gave away 18 runs to pick four wickets nine overs, out of which four were maiden. Their combined efforts shot Royal Stars out for a mere 83 in 25.4 overs. Mudassar (22) was the only player to put up some fight.
Qatari Diar darted to the victory in 11.3 overs with Amir hitting 31 with seven boundaries in 20 balls and Raheel making 24 off 14 balls, including five hits to the rope.
United Challengers continued their winning run in the Division A Twenty20 tournament as they outclassed Qatar Stars by 34 runs. Rifan (67 not out with three sixes and five fours in 34 balls), Ahanaf (59 in 38 balls with nine fours) and Niksy (46 in 26 balls with two sixes and seven fours) powered United Challengers to a big 189 for two.
Qatar Stars' chase was derailed by Sathish, who collected an impressive five for 34. Rizwan slammed three sixes and five fours to compile 61 off 41 deliveries. Jasim Khan took 17 balls to make 35, including three sixes and a four, and Umar Farookh's 20 contained two fours.
