Interior Min. holds talks with Arab, foreign envoys


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah on Wednesday held separate talks with a host of Arab and foreign envoys to Kuwait.

Receiving the US ambassador Lawrence R. Silverman, Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah underlined the deep-rooted bilateral ties, saying both sides share views on major regional and international issues, a Ministry statement said.

Silverman, for his part, appreciated Kuwait's support to peace and stability in the region.

The minister's meeting with the French ambassador Marie Masdupuy reviewed a host of issues of mutual concern to the two nations, focusing on security.

Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah also received today the Egyptian ambassador Tareq Al-Qouni and an accompanying delegation, and reiterated progress in bilateral ties in all fields.

The minister's meetings with the Turkish and Algerian ambassadors, Ayse Koytak and Abdulhamid Abdawi discussed several issues of common concern. (end) ays.kah.msa
