Russian Olympic membership 'fully restored'


(MENAFN) Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) has declared the Olympics membership of the country to have been "fully restored" after its 2018 Olympics ban.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has suspended Russia from participating in the Games held in February as a result of a doping case.

However, the IOC declared that in the possibility no doping cases emerged, they would consider the ban to be revoked.

ROC president Alexander Zhukov announced on state television "the Russian Olympic Committee has had its rights fully restored."
