Turkey troops kill 8 people in Afrin amid UN ceasefire


(MENAFN) On Tuesday, the Turkish-backed rebels in Syria have attacked some villages in Afrin, the Kurdish city in Syria, leaving at least 8 civilians dead.

According to a statement released by the Democracy Center for Human Rights in Kurdistan (DCHRK), the Turkish-backed rebels in Syria on Tuesday have launched a multiple attacks on the villages of Qarmilaq, Sanara, and Anqala in Western Afrin, BasNews reported.

"At least 8 people were killed despite wounding 9 others due to the bombardments of the Syrian rebels on Tuesday," reads the center's release.

These assaults come following the 30-day ceasefire approved by the UN Security Council on Saturday approved across Syria to help the affected civilians in the area.
