Turkey to strengthen ties with Algeria


(MENAFN) President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held talks on Tuesday with his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika on promoting cooperation in a range of fields.

Bothe leaders discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and other issues of common interest, including the Syrian crisis.

The Turkish president also co-chaired with Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia the Algerian-Turkish Business Forum, which brought together a large number of Algerian and Turkish companies and businessmen to give a new impetus to the bilateral trade.

After Erdogan's visit, the two countries signed seven partnership agreements and memorandums of understanding in the sectors of energy, higher education, diplomacy, culture, tourism and agriculture.
