Oman- Tennis: Muneer lifts U18 title


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) In-form Muneer al Rawahi's impressive run in the domestic tennis circuit continued as the 14 year old defeated Thomas Dupont 7-5 to clinch the U18 boys' title at the Ras al Hamra Open tennis tournament, which concluded at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Saturday.

The tournament was organised by the Ras al Hamra Recreational Club (RAHRC) tennis committee in cooperation with the Oman Tennis Association (OTA). Muneer's win follows his recent double title-triumph at the OTA Monthly Junior Tournament.

Earlier last month, Muneer was handed his debut in the Davis Cup when he played along with Mohammed al Nabhani in the doubles tie against Kyrgyzstan during the Asia/Oceania Group IV tournament in Muscat. Muneer and Mohammed beat the pair of Evgeniy Babak and Georgy Kotlyarevsky 6-4, 6-0.
