(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the abduction of over 110 school girls from the Government Girls Science and Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State of Nigeria.

OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen Al-Othaimeen on Tuesday conveyed his profound sympathy and that of the entire OIC Member States to the families of the victims, the government and the people of Nigeria over this "distressing incident perpetrated by a faction of the Boko Haram terrorist group," the organization said in a statement.

Reiterating the OIC's principled stance rejecting all forms of terrorism, Al-Othaimeen called for consolidating international cooperation with Nigeria and countries in the Lake Chad Basin, supporting them to eradicate "the threat that Boko Haram continues to pose to peace, socio-economic development and educational progress of the region."
