Jordan- House Speaker urges more executive, legislative cooperation


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb. 27 (Petra)-- Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Atef Tarawneh Tuesday underlined the importance of coordination and coordination between the legislature and the government in various areas, a move that would serve the higher national interests.

Tarawneh's remarks came as he received Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister for Prime Ministry Affairs, Jamal Sarayrah, with a focus on bolstering cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities.

The government is required to implement recommendations which the House endorsed on taxes and prices hikes, Tarawneh told Sarayrah.

Further, he urged the government to diligently work in dealing with lawmakers' questions within the foundations set by the constitution and the House's bylaws.

Sarayrah, on his part, said the government will sustain cooperation with the Lower House and will respond to deputies' questions with utmost responsibility. Cooperation with the Lower House is a national interest, Sarayrah said, expressing the government's keenness to better serve the country's goals and ambitions.
