Kuwait- Sudanese Amb. to Egypt resumes work in days

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KHARTOUM, Feb 26 (KUNA) -- Sudanese Ambassador to Egypt Abdel-Mahmoud Abdel-Halim will resume duties in Cairo in days' time, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

The ambassador told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that he would be back to his Cairo's office during first week of March.

The envoy indicated that he would work on resolving pending issues between the two neighboring states.

Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour had confirmed that the ambassador would resume work in Egypt, noting that a recent meeting that grouped the two countries' foreign ministers and security chiefs, held in Cairo, addressed issues of mutual interest.

Khartoum recalled its ambassador in Cairo, early this year, for consultations.

Cairo and Khartoum have disagreements on the border Hala'ib Triangle and water sharing of the Nile. (end) mmm.rk
