Duterte's children visit Filipino workers in Macau, Hong Kong

Children of the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte visited Macau on Saturday and met with hundreds of Filipino migrant workers at the Chan Meng Kam Theater, thanking them for supporting their father.

Duterte's daughter, Davao City mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, plus her brothers Paolo and Sebastian Duterte visited the former Portuguese colony for the first time, along with other city mayors and officials, reported.

The visit was part of the 'Tapang at Malasakit' campaign, which means 'courage and care', formed by Duterte-Carpio to call on Duterte supporters to band together and champion her father's administration.

Duterte-Carpio told hundreds of Filipino workers during her opening remarks in the Tapang at Malasakit Macau Alliance Convention that 'I have great respect for you, because I cannot match your sacrifice of leaving your loved ones for a long time.'

The mayor also conveyed the Duterte family's gratitude to Filipino workers who contributed to her father's victory in the 2016 presidential election.

Filipino migrant workers were largely joyful and supportive during the event but exhorted the administration to listen to the pleas of compatriots who are at risk of domestic abuse, particularly in countries like Kuwait.

'Tapang at Malasakit' was also held in Hong Kong on Sunday with more than 6,000 Filipinos attending an event held in Central on Hong Kong Island, according to the campaign's .
