5 injured in overnight celebratory firing


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Five people were wounded in Kabul and some provinces of the country due to overnight celebratory firing, an official said on Saturday.

Nasrat Rahimi, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), told Pajhwok Afghan News the heath condition to two injured people in Baghlan and one in Kabul was serious.

He added police have arrested over 10 alleged individual in connection to illegal firing.

Some residents of Kabul and other provinces of the country opened celebratory firing after two Afghan athletes won the games in Mix Marshal Arts (MMA) by defeating their foreign opponents.

The residents of Kabul have expressed their concern over celebratory firing and added besides physical injuries such firing caused psychological problems and fear among people.

Bibi Sultana, 55, the resident of Hesa-i-Douem Khir Khana said they were slept when sudden firing started and worried her and children at home.

€œThe firing continued for few minutes continuously, my grand children frightened and could not sleep till morning.€
