Israeli forces close Beit Iksa checkpoint
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, Feb. 25 (Petra) - The Israeli occupation forces on Sunday closed the checkpoint of Beit Iksa town, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, barring Palestinians from entering or leaving the area.
Director of Beit Iksa Cooperative Transport Society Zaid Zayed said in a statement that the occupation troops seized buses and vehicles coming to the town, and prevented them from crossing the checkpoint under various pretexts.
The checkpoint is the only entrance to the town, which is surrounded by the Apartheid Wall that isolated Beit Iksa from its Palestinian surroundings, he added.
The town's residents appealed to human rights organizations to act to stop Israeli violations and practices against Palestinians at this checkpoint.
